What is Redactle?

A Wikipedia article with almost every word blacked out. Guess words to reveal them throughout the page until you can work out the article's title.

Redactle is a free daily trivia game that will also appeal to fans of word games. Everyone gets the same puzzle each day, so it's easy to compare results with friends.

How to play Redactle

  1. You're shown a Wikipedia article with almost every word blacked out. Only very common words are visible.
  2. Guess a word to reveal every place it appears in the article.
  3. Win by revealing all the words in the article's title.

Redactle tips

  • Start with broad words like "city", "war", "species" or "born" to work out the type of article.
  • Section headings and the length of redacted words give big clues.
  • Once you know the topic, guess the words that would naturally appear in its title.
