What is Waffle?

All the letters are already on the board, just in the wrong places. Swap tiles to rebuild six interlocking words in a waffle-shaped grid, using as few swaps as you can.

Waffle is a free daily word game. Everyone gets the same puzzle each day, so it's easy to compare results with friends.

How to play Waffle

  1. The grid holds six words, three across and three down, with all their letters scrambled.
  2. Swap any two letters to move them. Green tiles are correct, and yellow tiles belong in that row or column but in a different spot.
  3. Unscramble every word within 15 swaps. Each swap you have left at the end earns a star.

Waffle tips

  • Solve the corner letters first, because each one sits in two words.
  • Before you swap, think about which word a letter completes in both directions.
  • A perfect game uses only 10 swaps, so plan each move rather than shuffling.
