How to play Metaflora

  1. Guess any plant.
  2. Wrong guesses narrow down the answer by taxonomic rank: kingdom, phylum, class, order and so on. The more your guess shares with the answer, the more you learn.
  3. Find today's mystery plant within 25 guesses.

  • Start broad with a common plant from a big group, like a grass, a tree or a flower.
  • Follow the deepest shared branch and guess within it.
